So this is what is half on, half of off my knitting needles:

I got this pattern at my local yarn shop, The Knitter's Edge.  You may have heard of them, they were featured in Vogue Knitting magazine.  They also have a group on Ravelry.   In fact, this is a Ravelry pattern by More than Knotz that they printed at the shop for me.  If you are in the area you simply must see this beautiful shop.  The staff is out of this world friendly and helpful and they are constantly offering all kinds of classes.  In fact, I'd go now except my car is sick.

So, I picked up a hank of Pima Lino, a lovely linen/cotton blend by Queensland.  The Knitter's Edge held a "yarn tasting" a few months ago, and this is one of the yarn we all got to try.  I'd been on the lookout for a nice linen/cotton blend, and the colorways for this yarn are very nice.  So, you may be thinking, you bought this pattern and yarn months ago, and you're just posting about it now?  Well,  I must say I am struggling with it.  I have never worked in the round before, and I have chosen to use the crochet cast on method, a cast on method I have never used before, as I think it will give the best finished edge when the cowl is completed.   I am hoping that once I am over the hump of casting on that I will gain momentum for this project.  I will post pictures if and when I do.  If I like the pattern enough I am going to buy more of this yarn or substitute a similar one and make the longer version for myself next summer.

I also crochet, and I have decided to make a blanket.  I have a selection of yarn in what I hope to be a nice tropical color scheme, and I'm undecided as to whether I want to do a chevron pattern or a bunch of granny squares.  It will probably be granny squares as they are small and portable and it is summer time.  I don't relish the thought of a huge blanket in my lap during hot weather.

That's it for now.  I have some panels ready for another coat of gesso in my art room, and I have some research to do on some acrylic transfer methods.  But that's another post for another blog.

Thanks for stopping by.
